Spotlight: An Ode to pink & blue
Colour played a big part in connecting the different spaces within the house. Born from the homeowners’ love of pink and blue, we sensitively extended the colour family throughout to adapt mood and ambience, from lilac and cobalt in the foyer, deep aubergine in the dining room, sultry blues and peach tones in the library to soft minks, blush and touches of navy in the master suite.
“The colour story is a beautifully sophisticated and alluring palette which works so well with the house and client’s personalities.”
We were keen to achieve a balance across the scheme that both honoured the period architecture and embraced the client’s love of contemporary art and design. In the library, we introduced a classical wall-to-wall timber bookshelf juxtaposed against paired back modern furnishings and sumptuous textural elements. We offset the traditional nature of the joinery by taking a deep grey-blue shade from floor to ceiling and colour-washing the woodwork and walls. An intricate Murano glass chandelier by Bella Figura illuminates the centre of the room, creating an elegantly refined, comfortable space with welcoming, romantic undertones.
